Key Features & Estimation Capabilities

A complete gravel and aggregate estimation toolkit engineered for contractors, landscapers, civil engineers, and DIY homeowners who need fast, accurate volume, tonnage, and cost projections for driveways, drainage, patios, and base courses.

Core Calculation

Cubic Yards & Tons Calculator

Calculate gravel volume and weight from area and depth using the standard formula: Cubic Yards = (Length ft × Width ft × Depth ft) ÷ 27, then multiply by material density. Crushed stone runs about 1.35 tons per cubic yard (100 lb/ft³), while pea gravel is closer to 1.3 tons per cubic yard.

Materials

Material Type & Density Selection

Choose from #57 crushed stone, pea gravel, crusher run, river rock, decomposed granite, and sand. Each material carries its own density profile, so weight estimates stay accurate whether your supplier charges by the cubic yard or by the ton.

Depth Guidance

Depth Presets & Coverage Rates

Built-in presets for drainage (2–3 in), walkways (2–3 in), driveways (4–6 in compacted), base courses (4–6 in), and decorative beds (2–3 in). One ton of #57 stone covers roughly 77–80 sq ft at 2–3 inches deep.

Waste Management

Adjustable Waste Factor

Add a customizable waste factor: 5% for a clean, flat job, 10% for spillage and uneven subgrade, and up to 15% for complex shapes or small deliveries. Most contractors build in 10% by default because gravel settles when compacted.

Project Cost & Truckload Planner

Get detailed cost projections per cubic yard or per ton, plus the number of dump truck loads needed. In 2026, bulk gravel runs roughly $20–$80 per cubic yard or $25–$100 per ton delivered, with #57 stone typically $30–$50 per cubic yard.
